David holds a Master of Yachts 200 ton certification in both sail and power, with more than 30,000 nautical miles logged at sea. As a Certified Marine Surveyor under the Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors, he is committed to delivering thorough, impartial reports of the highest standard.
His qualifications include AMSA Marine Engine Driver (Marine Mechanic), along with a proven track record as a Commercial Survey Workboat Designer and Consultant — with seven vessels successfully delivered to the Middle East. David also holds an AMSA Commercial Coxswain ticket and is an Approved RST Recreational Skippers Ticket Trainer.

At OceanPro Boat Inspections WA, we use the latest tools and technology to inspect all types of boats. Unlike many competitors, we’re fully trained and qualified to offer a complete service covering the boat, engine and trailer — all in one visit.
We’ll coordinate directly with the seller to arrange your inspection. After completing our comprehensive assessment, we compile an extremely detailed report with multiple high-resolution photos. Using advanced digital software, each defect is documented with a clear statement and, where possible, a recommended solution. All findings are categorised by severity, and your report includes a summary with final thoughts and tailored recommendations.
Once you’ve received the report, we’ll follow up with a one-on-one phone call to go through the results and answer any questions. Our goal is to give you the complete picture so you can make informed decisions, whether buying or selling.
